So there are several secret strategies for sales in trade that can help you increase your revenue and improve your business.

1. Build relationships: Building strong relationships with your customers is key to success in sales. This involves understanding their needs and wants, and providing them with personalized solutions that meet their requirements. One way of turning a potential client to a customer is by using the “KLT” approach, i.e Know, Like and Trust Approach. People will always buy from persons they know, like and trust.

2. Offer value: Your customers should feel that they are getting value for their money when they purchase your products or services. Offer incentives such as discounts, freebies, or exclusive deals to make them feel special and valued and you get to woo them for a come back.

3. Provide excellent customer service: Your customers should feel valued and appreciated when they interact with your business. Provide prompt and efficient customer service, and be responsive to their inquiries and concerns.

When you  meet a new lead you can begin conversing by saying ‘So that I can better serve you, do you mind if I ask a few questions?’. This way you gain clarity of what the customers’ problem is and this will help you proffer the best solution.

4. Use social media: The power of social media can not be undermined in this age and time. Social media is a powerful tool for reaching out to potential customers and building your brand. Use platforms like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn to connect with your audience, share your products, and promote your brand. If you have to learn social media management, please do because this will go a long way for you in business.

 

5. Keep learning: Sales in trade is an ever-evolving industry, so it’s important to keep learning and updating your skills. Attend seminars, conferences, and training sessions to stay updated on the latest trends and best practices in the industry. As the adage goes “ Once you stop learning, you start dying” – Albert Einstein.

6. Focus on quality: Quality is key in sales, it is ‘KING’ actually and your customers should feel that they are getting the best products and services available. Invest in high-quality materials, equipment, and staff to ensure that your products and services meet the highest standards.

 

7. Be persistent: Persistence is key in sales, so don’t give up too easily. Follow up with potential customers, offer additional incentives, and be persistent in your efforts to close a sale. 

I always remember what my father told me, “Tomi, don’t forget that Rome was not built in a day and don’t despise the days of little beginning”. It is important you hold on to this while you make giant steps in business, do the needful and things will fall in place.
